Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair in accordance with factory standards.
  • Communicates with service advisor if additional work is needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.

 

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

Ensures that customers' vehicles are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.

Reports any safety issues immediately to management.

Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.

Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.

Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.

Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.

Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.

Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.

Other duties may be assigned.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS- preferred but not required

Paccar MX Certification

Cummins Engine Certification on ISB, ISC & ISX 2150 through 2350

Heating and Air Conditioning Certification for Commercial Truck

Manual Drive Train and Axle Certification for Auto/Light Truck

Brakes Certification for Medium/Heavy Truck

Drive Train Certification for Eaton and Meritor

State Emission Certification

State Vehicle Inspector Certification

Valid Driver's License

 

COMPENSATION

(based on skill level and certifications)  $50,000 - $100,000 per year

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, will regularly be required to climb, reach/stretch arms, legs or other parts of the body to grasp objects. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment and machinery including computers, diagnostic equipment, hand tools, etc. Must be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently. Requires the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, and pull frequently.
