Responsibilities

SUMMARY

 

Processes all accounts payable invoices and assures that all vendors are paid in a timely manner. Reconciles vendor statements monthly.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

 

  • Obtains appropriate payment approval and verifies the G/L coding.
  • Posts all invoices in the business system.  
  • Prepares a bi-weekly check run and prepares on demand checks as required.
  • Reconciles vendor statements and processes payment.
  • Files all accounts payable checks  

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 One to two years of accounts payable or related experience

 

 LANGUAGE SKILLS

 Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to other employees of the organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

 

REASONING ABILITY

 Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
